Nourah’s Tissue Biobank Conducts Workshop on Principles of Scanning Electron Microscopy
Nourah’s Tissue Biobank, in collaboration with the Health Sciences Research Center (HSRC) Research Training Calendar, successfully conducted a specialized workshop titled “Principles of Scanning Electron Microscope” on November 21, 2024. The event took place at the HSRC building and was led by Mr. Meshal M. Al Sharafa, a distinguished member of Nourah’s Tissue Biobank.
This workshop provided an in-depth introduction to the principles and applications of the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), covering essential topics such as electron beam interactions, imaging techniques, and sample preparation methods. The session aimed to enhance the understanding and technical proficiency of researchers, students, and laboratory professionals working in advanced imaging and biomedical research.
“The workshop was designed to offer hands-on knowledge and theoretical insights into SEM technology, a crucial tool in biomedical and material sciences,” stated Mr. Meshal M. Al Sharafa. “Our goal is to equip researchers with the necessary skills to utilize this powerful imaging technique effectively.”
The event attracted participants from various disciplines, fostering an interactive learning environment where attendees engaged in discussions, practical demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. By collaborating with the HSRC Research Training Calendar, Nourah’s Tissue Biobank continues to support capacity-building initiatives that advance scientific research and technical expertise.
This workshop is part of a broader effort by Nourah’s Tissue Biobank to facilitate knowledge-sharing and training opportunities, ensuring that researchers have access to state-of-the-art methodologies in imaging and analysis.
