Nourah’s Tissue Biobank Signs Memorandum of Agreement with Saudi Society of Cytotechnology and Histotechnology

In a significant step toward advancing collaboration in biomedical research and histotechnology, Nourah's Tissue Biobank at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Saudi Society of Cytotechnology and Histotechnology. The agreement was formalized on Thursday, November 9, 2023. The memorandum was signed by Dr. Alaa Al Masoud, Head Section of the Tissue Biobank at PNU, and Abdulbasit bin Abdul Samad Andijani, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors. This strategic partnership aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of biospecimen preservation, cytotechnology advancements, and histological research, fostering scientific innovation and technical expertise. Abdulbasit bin Abdul Samad Andijani emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “The Saudi Society of Cytotechnology and Histotechnology is committed to supporting research initiatives that elevate diagnostic and laboratory technologies. This partnership with PNU’s Tissue Biobank will enable knowledge-sharing and capacity-building that benefits both institutions and the broader healthcare community.” The agreement paves the way for joint training programs, workshops, and research projects aimed at enhancing histopathological techniques and biobanking standards. It also reinforces the commitment of both organizations to uphold the highest ethical and scientific standards in biospecimen management and laboratory practices. With this partnership, Nourah’s Tissue Biobank continues to expand its role as a key contributor to biomedical research in Saudi Arabia, supporting advancements in tissue preservation and diagnostics for future healthcare innovations.
